It's Always Something

Balmy January Breezes

The weather here has been April-like for the last week. Monday afternoon it was nearly 70 degrees, so the dog and I headed for our favorite beach. The tide was so high!! The water reached past the start of the fishing pier - you had to jump over about 2 to 3 feet of water to reach the pier. I was surprised that the dog volunteered to try this. He's a Jack Russell mix, and has no particular love for water (though he loves to run like a maniac in the beach sand, for some reason.)

This is how I spent the afternoon... (Pardon the paint stained shoes.) The sun came out just then. Lovely!

Yes, this is the "new" January, I guess. I hadn't worn a coat or jacket for days and days. My sneakers still have sand in them.

January came back today, though. It was about 42 degrees this afternoon. Still only jacket weather, really. At least it feels a bit more suitable though, since my Christmas tree is still up. I was starting to think that I live in Australia.

So anyway, thank you to "El Nino" or whoever is responsible. I owe you big time.
